Kitty began dancing as a child in Northamptonshire and attended The Ferrers School until 2017. During her early years of training, Kitty won the ‘All England Dance’ finals on multiple occasions. At The Ferrers School she was fast-tracked to complete her GCSE and A-Level dance qualifications during her first four years at the school, obtaining A*/A grades.
Kitty graduated with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance (First Class) 2017-2020, from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds. During studies, Kitty worked with choreographers such as Anthony Missen, Alleyne Dance, Theo Clinkard and Two Thirds Sky (‘Eventide', a site-specific performance which took place in Higham Ferrers).
Devised in 2023, Kitty Denton founded 'mode movement' dedicated in providing a refreshing space, welcoming both beginners and advanced levels looking to start something new or to continue developing their skills. Continuously looking to expand, classes and performance opportunities for youth ages are now in the works for summer 2025 and this project with the students in Higham Ferrers will definitely inspire future plans.
Rosemary Nayyar spent her early life in Rushden and Higham Ferrers before moving to London to study organ and piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, followed by a year at the University of London.
Her career has covered teaching in schools, private instrumental teaching and accompanying choir tours abroad. She has also worked as a choir director and organist in churches in the London area. She returned to Higham Ferrers in 2006 and continues to teach piano privately. Having recently retired as choir director and organist at St. Mary’s, Rushden she now plays the organ at St. Mary’s, Higham Ferrers regularly and occasionally assists at other local churches.
