The Friends of St. Mary’s welcome you to a weekend of storytelling, poetry, art and music 

We offer a variety of events for all ages to enjoy in magnificent Grade 1 listed venues.

Story-telling Workshops by best-selling author Chris Smith

FREE to local schoolchildren by prior arrangement only

The weekend begins as Chris Smith, co-author of the best-selling Kid Normal books, shares his storytelling secrets with local schoolchildren and their parents.

An afternoon with Ophelia Redpath and Artem Mozgovoy

Ophelia Redpath, artist, is delighted to be able to team up with her friend, Artem Mozgovoy, writer, at our Arts Weekend, there they will each talk about their work.

Enjoy a huge array of different genres and songs, from huge pop and soul anthems to classical chorales, as well as gospel music, in a beautiful medieval church.

A talk by local author's granddaughter Victoria Wicks about his time in the RAF during WW2, when he was an officer and story writer. 

Come along in 1940s clothes to enter into the spirit of the talk!
